Who We Are

Children's Creative Village...

Began with a vision from Multi-dispensary Artist, Belinda Ageda, AGO Richard & Elizabeth Currie Chief, Education & Programming, Dr. Audrey Hudson and Visual Artist, Community Strategist &

Equity Consultant, Mesha Maloney.

Their hope was to create a place where parents and care givers could bring their children to
connect to African and Caribbean culture through visual arts while attending an outdoor festival.
In 2013, Afrofest moved to Woodbine Park from Queens Park. The Children's Creative Village

launched at that years festival! It was such a huge success that the Children’s Creative Village

became a staple at Afrofest!

The Children’s Creative Village has amazing crafts, a sensory safari & face painting inspired by

different parts of Africa and the Caribbean.

Sensory Activities

Our sensory activities integrate a strong environmental ethos by incorporating

education on reducing our carbon footprint, learning about the environment

that animals live in globally, and a sensory component.

Simultaneously, through hands-on craft activities, children will have the opportunity to explore,

feel and celebrate the rich traditions and artistic expressions of African and Caribbean regions.
